Tom currently
teaches classes in Six Forms Taiji Qigong, 8, 16, 24, Forms
Modern Style and 32 Simplified Taiji Sword. Previously taught
classes in, Yang Style 108 Form and Cheng Man-Ch’ing 37 Form.
Tom
began studying 1991 at Jim Lodahl’s studio in Duluth learning
T. T. Liang’s 150 Posture Yang Style, which is very similar to
the better-known Yang Style 108 Form. He later studied with Wei
Miao Mu in Superior, WI learning various Qigong forms, Chinese
culture and medicine, Bagua, and a variation of Wu style Taijiquan.
Tom first visited the Peng You Taiji Association at the International
Taiji Festival 2000 and attended workshops taught by Master Wang
Jianhua, Master Peng, and Master Eddie Wu.
A member of the Peng You Taiji Quan Association since that time,
Tom has returned to Thunder Bay for numerous learning opportunities
offered by Master Peng Youlian, Roy Stokes, Master Zeng Nailiang
and Master Wei Xianglian.
In the Fall of 2004 the City of Duluth was host to the first U.S.
visit of Master Zeng and Master Wei accompanied by Master Peng
and Oliver Reimer. The Masters met with the mayor of Duluth for
a cultural exchange opportunity and presented a workshop/demonstration
of the Six Forms Taiji Qigong and various Taiji forms, including
the very new Hockey Stick Form.
